HOW TO DONATE (Thanks!) Reaching our goal of building 4 libraries, funding 10 years of girl’s scholarships and buying as many Nepelese kids' books as possible depends on you. You have several options. 1. Credit Card: This is best ...and the money goes straight to Room to Read. You can donate (donation will be in USD, but you can use a card from any country with any currency) at the Room to Read secure page. Be sure to type 'For the Ride to Read' in the special instructions box. John and Emily at Room to Read will let us know you donated, but send us an email (dmcquillen@rocketmail.com) so we can put your name at the site right away. 2. Bank Account Transfer If you are in Switzerland, you may prefer to transfer your funds to our bank account. We'll forward your donation to Room to Read. Details are: Nicolas Bertsché, 8045 Zurich, Account No. 808401-50-5, Clearing No. 0507 (Credit Suisse, 3001 Bern, Switzerland). 3. Check: You can send a check (in USD) to Room to Read. Be sure to indicate that the donation is for 'Ride to Read.' The address is: Room to Read The Presidio P.O. Box 29127 San Francisco, CA 94129 4. Cash: Of course, we can also take cash (any currency). You can give the money to us whenever we see you, or you can mail it to us (c/o David McQuillen, Winkelriedstrasse 27, 8006 Zurich, Switzerland). We are also set up with paypal if you prefer that. Just email us (dmcquillen@rocketmail.com) to arrange. Donation Levels As this is for charity, we can’t offer any big ‘rewards’ for big donations. But we do have something special to offer you based on the donation levels below: - Base Camp - under 100 CHF (75 USD) – Your name listed* at this website - Ascent Club - over 100 CHF (75 USD) - Your name* at website and email updates during the ride - The Peak Club - over 250 CHF (200 USD) – Your name* at this website, email updates and a small book of photos taken when we arrive in Pokara and visit the libraries your money will have built * If you don’t want your name listed, then let us know and your contribution will be listed as ‘Someone along for the ride’ To see who has donated so far, click here. Many employers match the charitiable contributions of employees. Please check with your company to see if this is the case. Room to Read is a registered charity, so your donations are tax deductible if you are in the US or the UK. Swiss citizens will have to check with their local canton for the tax situation.. Corporate Sponsors We are funding our costs out of our own pockets. It's a little expensive. In return for publicity and a general sense of doing good (that's worth something, right?), we're looking for companies to help cover our costs and provide equipment.
