| A (Long) BIKE RIDE TO EDUCATE CHILDREN IN NEPAL From April 13tth to May 4th, 2004, we (Nicolas Bertsché and David McQuillen) mountain biked from Lhasa, Tibet to Kathmandu, Nepal. It was more than 1,200km on the highest roads in the world, across the himalayas. The air was thin, the road was hard, and we're did it so kids could read a book. |

| We did it! Thank you! We had a goal of 10,000CHF, but eventually raised more than 25,000 CHF (!!!) That was enough for... 4 libraries 10 years of scholarships 14,000 Nepalese kids' books |

| Why? More than 1 billion people in the world are illiterate, resulting in poverty, oppression and wars. In Nepal, rural illiteracy is as high as 70 %. We wanted to help break the cycle of poverty by raising 10,000 Swiss Francs to build libraries, fund scholarships and publish books. We raised more than 23,000 CHF. More >> |
